Chef / Cook

Hawkesbury Living is a modern aged care facility caring for around 130 residents, in the center of Richmond NSW. We are part of a group, including the Richmond Club & the Richmond Golf Club. We are located very close to the train line, and onsite parking is also available. Qualifications & experience Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or cafe, either in hospitality or in aged care catering is essential. A minimum of 2 years commercial kitchen experience is required. Australian work authorisation is also required without restrictions at the time of application. Tasks & responsibilities Assisting our catering team with meal preparation and service. The role involves cooking, sandwich & salad production, plating and assisting with breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Desserts, preparation and general kitchen duties. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word. You will be trained into our various duties including chef, cold larder & chef assistant roles. The shift times are varied however the morning shifts start from 6:00am to 6:30am and finish around 2:00pm to 2:30pm. Afternoon shifts finish by 8pm with no split shifts. As we operate every day of the year for breakfast, lunch & dinner, we need the successful applicant to have good flexibility with the various shifts across the full week. Weekends and public holidays worked will receive higher pay rates also. The applicant needs to have a variety of all‑round cooking skills and take pride in their quality of food and presentation.
