Fleet Coordinator (Proactive Maintenance) Company: The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (GMCT) Salary: EBA Level 4.1 ($82,600.08 + Super) Location: Fawkner Employment type: Full‑time, permanent Work schedule: 2 RDOs per month About The Role The Fleet Operations Team maintains the availability, reliability, and compliance of GMCT’s fleet, plant and equipment. In a fast‑paced environment the Fleet Coordinator (Proactive Maintenance) manages plant, fleet and equipment to maximise performance, safety and cost‑effectiveness across three regions. The role coordinates across Operations, Contractors, Management and stakeholders to ensure assets are maintained to high standards and aligned with GMCT’s sustainability, safety and operational objectives.
Your Responsibilities
Develop, implement and manage proactive maintenance programs across plant and fleet assets. Implement a proactive maintenance schedule to minimise vehicle breakdowns and extend asset life. Ensure timely inspections, servicing and repairs according to manufacturer and regulatory standards, and fully document all activities in the asset‑management system. Support the integration of maintenance strategies into the organisation’s asset‑management systems.
Monitor and report on maintenance trends and performance indicators, seeking continuous improvement. Collaborate with maintenance, operations and other departments to minimise downtime of plant and fleet equipment. Develop and maintain a detailed database of all contractor support and external stakeholders. Track vehicle usage, fuel consumption, mileage and telematics data to optimise and reduce operating costs.
About You
Trade qualification in mechanical, automotive or heavy vehicle preferred. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in fleet or maintenance operations. Relevant qualification in operations or another discipline with significant team‑supervision experience (minimum 5 years) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience
in works planning, prioritising and delegating works. Demonstrated ability to undertake analysis, generate reports and provide recommendations.
Experience
in the cemetery industry (desirable).
