About the Position Fluence is seeking a passionate individual committed to solving challenging problems of our time. The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will work with the Software Development & System Engineering Team, focusing on product development for the Fluence BESS. Responsibilities include design and configuration of network and communication paths for RTUs, HMIs, PLCs, and other SCADA equipment inside substations or facilities. The Engineer will manage work processes, documentation, schedules, and technical specifications, champion continuous improvement, and coordinate compliance with Services, Technology, Controls, Engineering, and Project Management teams. Your Responsibilities Will Include Serve as the Subject Matter Expert regarding SCADA and related systems and processes. Support the integration of Fluence BESS control system into Transmission System Operator (TSO) EMS / SCADA systems. Lead the development of logic and control schemes for remote and local operation of the BESS to meet TSO requirements. Manage interface to client and sub‑contractor to support SCADA compliance during Tender and Project Execution phases. Keep current with all company products, developments, and projects as they apply to the SCADA network at both site and enterprise levels. Maintain strict management of change control procedures and documentation. Remain current on industry best practices and updated technology to provide world‑class SCADA services. Support company strategy and provide relevant reporting and updates to leadership as needed. Develop and recommend performance management and feedback to current SCADA technical support KPIs. Develop and maintain required interfaces, device configurations, communications, data points, and SCADA alarm notifications. Document existing SCADA infrastructure, including hardware, applications, protocols, communication links, and system backup / recovery strategies. Qualifications Four‑year bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, IT, computer science, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of SCADA experience in a power utility or related industry, with preference for EMS / SCADA expertise. Intermediate‑to‑expert knowledge of industrial‑grade supervisory control and data acquisition systems. Experience leading and managing engineering or technical teams in the electric power industry is desirable. Knowledge of SCADA protocols (IEC IEC MMS, DNP3, Modbus / TCP‑IP) Working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens S7 & Allen Bradley ControlLogix), IEC logic, SEL / SIEMENS relays & meters, SCADA gateways, data concentrators, and RTUs. Experience with managed Ethernet switches and media converters (fiber & serial). Basic knowledge of high‑voltage equipment design, operation, and maintenance is a plus. Collaboration in a flexible environment, initiative, and proven contractor‑management skills in a matrix organization. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; travel commitment %.
