Operational Desk Assistant The Operations team is essential to our trading success, ensuring accuracy, control, and efficiency across all processes. We tackle complex challenges and seek sharp, capable individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As an Operational Desk Assistant, you'll support traders with daily administrative tasks, coordinate with brokers and other desks, and help manage trade records and P&L reporting. This role offers a hands‑on entry into the dynamic world of trading. A strong understanding of financial instruments—especially equities, futures, and derivatives—is key, along with the ability to build effective working relationships with experienced traders. Responsibilities Compile/reconcile trade, transaction and positions. Prepare and submit delivery instructions for proprietary trading. Assist with maintaining position, P&L and information exchange. Maintaining and managing operational processes as per regulatory framework to ensure exchange compliance. Use of algorithmic trading tools under instruction from traders. Update and manage all exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and excel spreadsheets. Act as liaison between desk traders and other dealers, traders or brokers and all internal departments. Run appropriate desk projects and initiatives. Committed to innovation with a strong interest in learning and working with new technologies. Continuous improvement of the capability of the Front Office team and applications (through technology, automation and other means). Experience Previous experience in financial services industry and completion of finance/investment related course work a plus. Thorough knowledge of equity and equity derivatives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Python or SQL preferred. Strong communication skills (verbal and written); ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Detail oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-moving, highly intellectual environment. Must be a self starter, a quick learner, and resourceful in solving problems. Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanor Ability to move throughout the trading floor as needed. Maintain composure under pressure.
