About the role and team We have a new opportunity for an experienced corporate insolvency lawyer at SA level to join our growing Dispute Resolution (DR) section in Melbourne, working with a highly regarded team of industry‑leading partners and lawyers. Our Melbourne team is part of our national and well‑established DR Section, with over 115 team members nationwide working across all facets of commercial dispute resolution and litigation, including commercial and contractual disputes, banking and financial services litigation, corporate insolvency, personal insolvency, public sector, property and construction disputes, regulatory investigations and tax disputes. Responsibilities voluntary administration, liquidation, workout arrangements and receivership; recovery actions under the Corporations Act; corporate insolvency and bankruptcy matters, including acting and advising insolvency practitioners, directors, financial institutions in various claims and actions arising under the Corporations Act, security arrangements or the Bankruptcy Act; advising directors and creditors; advising on high‑profile and complex matters. About you between 4 and 9 years of post‑admission experience in Australia is essential; previous experience in general commercial litigation and disputes with significant experience working on insolvency and bankruptcy matters, ideally from a large or medium‑sized law firm or a highly regarded insolvency law practice; strong communication and drafting skills, with outstanding attention to detail; the ability to confidently run matters through dispute resolution processes; the ability to handle a busy workload with competing timelines.
