Interim Financial Controller

1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicants We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to lead the finance function for the local subsidiary of our US headquartered client, during a period of organisation change and growth. Reporting directly to the Global CFO, you will be the country finance leader responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting under both Australian and US GAAP standards. You will provide steady finance leadership to the team and partner with the business using your extensive global knowledge and experience. Key Responsibilities: • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in compliance with both Australian and US GAAP reporting requirements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the global finance team. • Financial Control: Manage all aspects of financial control, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small local accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary finance liaison between the Australian subsidiary and the global finance team. Provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of financial operations. Qualifications: Expected •Amenable to work in Brisbane •CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualifications backed by 7-10 years of corporate finance experience. Top candidates will demonstrate exposure to a majority of the following: • Big 4 training and experience • Success in roles within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or other life sciences innovation markets • Proven experience in managing finance functions across manufacturing, import, sales, and distribution operations as a subsidiary on a multi-national growth business • Exposure to of R&D accounting, inventory management, and revenue recognition specific to the biotechnology industry or a similar fast growth technology field. • Leadership Skills with demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. • Proven track record in managing financial operations during periods of change and growth, with a focus on scalability and process improvement.
