About the role: This position is situated withinMacKillop Family ServicesSouth West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) Program.This program isresponsible for providing in-home practical support and childcare services to families in crisis inlocations across theSouth WestofWestern Australia. With an hourly Rateof $35.67 to $41.45 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 2-3, dependent on qualification and experience, the Family Support Worker provides home-based emergency care to children within the family andprovides practicalsupportstofamilies in crisis. The Family Support Worker is a member of theMacKillop Family ServicesSouth Westteam, andreports to theSWECC Team Leader. This is a Causal opportunity based in South West Region, WA within our South West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) program. The position reports to the SWECC Team Leader. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have: A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families. Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and at risk families and children to address practical issues within a home, including the emergency care of children. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
