This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where your expertise will strengthen financial reporting and governance, influence strategy, and shape outcomes across high-profile portfolios. As Associate Director Finance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial strength, accountability, and performance underpinning these outcomes. You will lead a high‑performing team, contribute to financial reporting and audit activities, support strategic decision‑making, and drive financial excellence across reporting, compliance, systems, and process improvements.As the role will be working closely with the Budgeting team, additional experience with budget management, forecasting, and projections will be highly desirable. About you As the Associate Director Finance, you will support the Executive Director Corporate Services & CFO to assure the delivery of finance functions of Destination NSW. A key part of the role involves financial and statutory reporting, managing financial governance, systems, controls and process improvements to support the Executive Director Corporate Services & CFO. You will be leading the preparation of interim and year‑end financial statements processes, and NSW Treasury returns. You will also coordinate the external audit process, ensuring timely responses, accurate information provision and effective management. Additionally, you will be delivering high‑level analysis, insights and recommendations, and provide feedback to policies and procedures as required. To be successful in the role, you will have: Strong experience in leading financial, statutory reporting and annual audit processes. Substantial understanding of public sector reporting and relevant policies, processes and legislation, particularly in the context of NSW Treasury policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements. Leading and managing financial systems, controls, governance frameworks and process improvement initiatives. Strong experience in leading team to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions to complex issues. Proven experience leading teams in system implementations and shared service reforms. Demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience in the public sector. Tertiary qualifications in accountancy, commerce, finance or relevant discipline. CA or CPA qualified. To learn more about the role, please click here to download the role description.
