Our Team We are part of the Digital Earth team within the Space Division, working on Earth observation and satellite data products that benefit Australia and the region. The Role We are hiring two Senior Project Officer roles within the Earth Observation Impacts and Strategic Engagement (EOI&SE) section. The role is accountable for supporting and coordinating complex work across identified areas, providing technical, professional, and policy advice. In this role you will: Research and draft briefing documents for a range of audiences about EO issues, trends and activities. Support Australia’s regional and international EO interests, including representation in domestic and international forums and coordination of logistical arrangements. Provide project management support, undertake procurement and contract management activities, including financial administration. Drive stakeholder engagement and consultation processes to understand EO user requirements. Undertake other duties in support of section, branch and agency priorities as required. To be successful in this role you will: Have experience in project delivery, including procurement, planning, execution, risk management and reporting. Have proven ability to coordinate and support program governance forums with briefings, meeting packs, minutes and action tracking. Develop and manage relationships with international and national stakeholders, engaging and collaborating to achieve successful outcomes. Have well‑developed organisational skills, strong task prioritisation and the ability to demonstrate initiative. Demonstrate ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrate technical understanding of EO and its application. Demonstrate understanding of, and commitment to, the Australian Public Service Values and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications Experience working with government to support policy and project design and delivery, including procurement. Aptitude for understanding technical projects (technical space or earth observation knowledge desirable but not required). Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to listen and adapt to varied audiences.
