Student Wellbeing Officer – St Vincent’s Primary School, Clear Island Waters Brisbane Catholic Education Office – Clear Island Waters QLD Summary Empower school communities to support students’ personal growth by offering insightful spiritual guidance and personalised advice Location and Details Location: St Vincent’s – Clear Island Waters Start date: Commencing January 2026 Work hours: 12 hours per week (Tuesday & Wednesday) Salary: School Officer Level 5 – $39.44 per hour + super (School Salary Scale) Status: Term Time | Fixed‑term Ad close date: 14 December 2025 Contact: Peter Griffin | *****@bne.catholic.edu.au About the opportunity In this position you will be responsible for: Contributing to and promoting the development, alignment, attainment and review of the mission and strategic goals for Brisbane Catholic Education Working closely with others to promote and develop student wellbeing, emotional resilience, positive relationships and a sense of community Collaborating with other role holders such as the Campus Minister or APRE in supporting the faith, spiritual and pastoral needs of students Providing appropriate referrals for students in accordance with school‑approved protocols and processes Promoting positive partnerships within and beyond the school community About you To be successful you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including: Contributing and working with others in partnership for the common goal of students’ wellbeing Supporting students’ emotional resilience, positive relationships, and spiritual needs Key knowledge of support services to assess and provide appropriate referrals for students Building and maintaining positive relationships within the school and local community, promoting partnerships that support students’ holistic development Demonstrating understanding of Catholic values, emotional intelligence, and crisis management to address the spiritual, emotional and academic needs of students Certificate IV qualification in Youth Work, Pastoral Care or a related field (including at least two units of competency in ‘making appropriate referrals’, ‘mental health’, ‘working with young people’ or ‘cultural awareness and support’) Completion of the professional learning package, ‘Responding to and Preventing Cyberbullying’, delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencement and every two years thereafter For government‑funded programmes, applying for a temporary waiver through Queensland Catholic Education Commission if qualifications are not met Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement Why choose BCE Opportunities for career advancement & professional development Competitive remuneration and flexible work arrangements (position dependent) Access to targeted AI tools and training with a focus on innovation and strong ethical standards Salary packaging and salary‑sacrifice options Active staff social club and wellness programs Personal support for employees and families through the Employee Assistance Program Equity and inclusion Equity and inclusion are at the core of our Catholic values and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce.
