With a strong national presence of over 800 offices and a dynamic, fast-paced commercial environment, this company is now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead legal functions spanning franchising, commercial contracts, governance and risk. What You’ll Be Doing Working closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders across the business, as the Senior Legal Counsel for Australia, you’ll be responsible for: Franchise Compliance - overseeing all franchise legal documentation including franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and compliance registers Commercial Contracting - preparing, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of contracts such as supplier agreements, sponsorship deals, and property leases Governance & Risk - advising on risk management, privacy matters, and legislative developments; participating in internal committees as needed Board Reporting - preparing accurate and concise legal updates for board and leadership consideration External Counsel Engagement - managing instructions and relationships with external advisors Leadership - providing guidance to a capable Legal & Events Administrator What We’re Looking For This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded, confident communicator with: 5+ years’ post-admission experience, ideally in a franchising-heavy environment Proven experience with franchise law, including preparing disclosure documents and managing franchisee relationships Strong commercial contracting experience, with the ability to balance legal risk against business needs The confidence to work independently and interface with executives and cross-functional teams A collaborative and practical approach, and the ability to work at pace in a large, evolving business Why Consider This Role?
