Job description: Agency Department of Corrections Work unit Youth Justice - Bail Support Facility Job title: Facility Coordinator (Designation Administrative Officer 6) Job type: Full time Duration: Fixed for 6 months Salary: $96,620 - $107,721 Location: Darwin Position number: RTF Closing date: 22/12/2025 Contact officer: Earvin Alinsug, *** or **************@nt.gov.au About the agency: Primary objective Provide supervision to a team of Youth Support Officers, including development of rosters and coordination of a team; liaise with various program providers to aid young people in education, restitution, skills development and community reintegration. Key duties and responsibilities Provide supervision and develop a roster to coordinate a team of Youth Support Officers led by Shift Leads. Arrange coordination and contribute to daily and weekly planning of activities for youth in Bail Accommodation. Ensure Officers actively engage and lead young people in activities such as job readiness programmes, house and garden maintenance, and overnight or multi‑day camping. Support Officers in applying protocols and procedures, proactively de‑escalating incidents and reporting to enhance group and individual needs. Act as a mentor and guide, encouraging Officers and youth participation in treatment and care plans. Ensure feedback and monitoring processes are followed to meet case management and contract requirements. Support high‑quality service provision through supervision, performance management and professional development. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures. Adhere to Corrections values, the Code of Conduct and demonstrate exemplary behaviour. Participate in a 24‑hour/7‑day roster and actively engage in rostered activities such as overnight camping. Selection criteria Essential Demonstrated experience in a comparable coordination or supervisory position, including roster development and shift scheduling. Ability to work with vulnerable young people with complex behaviours (alcohol/drug use, poverty, cultural identity, mental health, disability). Understanding of staff and youth supervision requirements, protocols and escalation procedures. Knowledge of child and adolescent development models, trauma‑informed practice and de‑escalation/conflict resolution techniques. Well‑developed teamwork and collaborative skills, able to work autonomously and consultatively with youth and officers. Completed MAYBO (conflict management and physical intervention) training certificate or willingness to undertake this training. Preparedness to undertake and complete 4WD training for travel to unsealed roads and regional communities, including overnight stays as necessary. Current C‑class driver’s licence. Desirable Senior First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation certification or ability to acquire. Previous experience working with staff and youth in youth supported accommodation or similar environment.
