As our highly valued Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Specialist based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne your role will be responsible for the administration, management, and continual improvement of the bank’s Microsoft 365 cloud platforms – including Microsoft SharePoint and Viva Engage. The role ensures these platforms remain secure, reliable, and well-governed, while supporting collaboration and effective information management across the organisation. It combines technical administration and cloud engineering with stakeholder engagement and solution delivery, helping business areas to leverage the full potential of Microsoft 365 to meet operational and communication needs You’ll make an impact by taking on the following responsibilities: SharePoint Administration and Development Manage and administer the bank’s SharePoint environment, including the intranet, divisional,and team sites. Ensure platform performance, permissions, and governance compliance with internal policiesand standards. Configure and implement new SharePoint features, workflows, and site enhancements. Work closely with business stakeholders to deliver site improvements and solutions that support operational efficiency. Oversee site lifecycle management, including provisioning, archiving, and decommissioning. Viva Engage and Microsoft Viva Suite Administer and support Viva Engage, ensuring stability, integration, and adherence to governance standards. Partner with Corporate Communications and People & Culture (HR) to manage communities,campaigns, and engagement analytics. Explore opportunities to extend the Microsoft Viva suite (Viva Connections, Topics, Insights) to address business needs. Microsoft 365 Administration and Support Provide administration and technical support across other Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, OneDrive, Forms, Stream). Support governance, compliance, and data protection activities within the Microsoft 365 environment. Assist in planning and implementing new Microsoft 365 features, updates, and capabilities. Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement Partner with business units to identify opportunities to improve collaboration and knowledge sharing. Provide user support, training, and guidance on SharePoint and Viva features. Contribute to documentation, governance frameworks, and end-user materials. Monitor Microsoft 365 roadmap developments and recommend adoption of relevant new capabilities. Collaborate with IT Security, Identity, and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory requirements. Cloud Platform Engineering Design, develop, and support cloud-based solutions within the Microsoft 365 platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security requirements, and modern application development practices. Lead the integration of SharePoint Online, Viva, Teams, and related M365 services with other cloud applications, leveraging APIs, Power Platform components, and Azure-based capabilities where appropriate. Provide senior technical expertise in the engineering, optimisation, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 cloud services, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability across the organisation. Utilise relevant programming and scripting languages — including PowerShell, JavaScript / TypeScript, JSON, HTML / CSS, and (where appropriate) C# — to automate cloud services, develop custom solutions, and integrate Microsoft 365 with other enterprise systems. Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of cloud solution development, including solution design, build, configuration, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing optimisation within the Microsoft 365 environment. Do things differently with us To succeed in this role, you will have: 3–5 years experience in a similar role administering and supporting Microsoft 365 or SharePoint environments within a corporate or regulated setting, with demonstrated capability operating as a senior or sole platform specialist. Proven experience administering and developing Microsoft SharePoint Online (site design, permissions, modern pages, and workflows), including designing and delivering cloud-based solutions, integrations, and modern information architectures. Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including Teams, OneDrive, and Viva Engage (Yammer), with a strong understanding of cloud service architecture and inter-platform dependencies. Experience with scripting and programming languages relevant to Microsoft 365 and cloud platforms, such as PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML / CSS, and (desirable) C# for Azure-based automation and integration. Strong understanding of information architecture, content management, and governance principles, with the ability to apply these at an enterprise scale. Experience working with business stakeholders to translate needs into practical solutions and to provide senior technical guidance across cloud collaboration services. Familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps) desirable. Sound analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
