About Parent Thread Parent Thread is a Geelong-based social enterprise dedicated to creating inclusive spaces of connection for parents. Our programs include Bloom & Connect for expectant mums, Strong Starts for Dads, and community circles that foster belonging and support. We believe every parent deserves a village. The Role We are seeking an experienced marketing professional to volunteer their expertise in shaping and amplifying Parent Threads marketing and outreach. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in marketing, communications, or partnerships who wants to make a meaningful community impact. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase awareness of Parent Threads programs Lead outreach to local businesses and organisations, securing meaningful sponsorship and partnership opportunities Guide campaign planning for upcoming programs, ensuring messaging and timing maximise reach and engagement Strengthen our brand presence by identifying new marketing channels and opportunities Provide mentorship and direction to support volunteers creating content so that all communications are aligned and professional Identify growth opportunities such as cross-promotion, local media, event listings, or community partnerships Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or partnerships (professional level, ideally 5+ years) Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder engagement skills Strategic thinker with the ability to balance creative ideas and practical implementation Excellent written and verbal communication Familiarity with social enterprise, community, or not‑for‑profit sectors is a plus Commitment Approx. 2 to 4 hours per week, flexible. Immediate short‑term focus on Bloom & Connect and Strong Starts for Dads promotion (programs starting in 5 weeks). Ongoing opportunity to support longer‑term growth and sustainability. Can be remote, though local knowledge of the Geelong and Surf Coast community is highly valued.
