The Company is in search of a Chief Scams Officer (CSO) to spearhead the establishment and leadership of a pioneering initiative - the Australian Scams Ombudsman Service. This executive role is pivotal in the creation of a government-backed, world-first program dedicated to delivering external dispute resolution within the Scams Prevention Framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and sustainable operation of the service, in line with the organization’s purpose and long-term strategic direction. This includes the critical task of building and operationalizing the entity to handle a significant volume of complaints, with a focus on addressing consumer harm and restoring trust. Responsibilities Key responsibilities for the CSO include securing industry engagement and funding, managing complex stakeholder relationships across various sectors, and leading a project team to drive strategic decisions for the service's long-term sustainability. The role demands a professional with a proven track record in establishing large-scale regulatory or consumer protection services, strong leadership and organizational design capabilities, and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer protection, the ability to navigate through ambiguity, and a deep understanding of evolving regulatory frameworks.
