Senior Development Design Engineer

This diverse role will see you spending your days completing many different development design tasks as part of the Engineering Certification team. Responsibilities Collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve high‑quality engineering outcomes. Mentor staff within the section, provide technical advice to relevant stakeholders and assess the detail designs of Development infrastructure such as stormwater drainage works, road intersections or large subdivisions. Provide technical expertise, coaching and advice to staff to allow them to effectively undertake their responsibilities and duties. Make accurate decisions in the assessment of the design of a wide range of civil infrastructure. Build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes that add value to the organisation. Assess and interpret information to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to enable the organisation to achieve quality outcomes. Support sustainable development for the community and environment. Qualifications A degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development. A current Class C Drivers Licence. Extensive knowledge directly related to Civil Engineering Design, including experience and a general knowledge of all aspects associated with development and environmental planning. Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, policies and procedures related to engineering design. Good understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, the Roads Act, and the Local Government Act, along with awareness of other related environmental and planning legislations/regulations. Proven ability to assess and interpret information to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to enable the organisation to achieve quality outcomes. Other Important Information Commencing salary: up to $1,971.70 per week plus 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance, with progression opportunities up to $2,370.18 per week plus 12% superannuation. Permanent full‑time position. 9‑day fortnight with flexible/hybrid working arrangements (2 days from home, 3 days onsite). Located at the Wyong Administration Building.
