Westmead Hospital & Westmead Centre for Oral Health Westmead Hospital is a major teaching hospital and principal referral centre, renowned for its specialised services. Within the hospital, the Westmead Centre for Oral Health is one of the nation’s largest oral health centres, offering comprehensive general and specialist dental services. Mount Druitt Hospital & Dental Clinic Mount Druitt Hospital has proudly served its community for over 50 years, delivering comprehensive healthcare services tailored to evolving community needs. Conveniently located near Mt Druitt train station and Westfield shopping centre (10‑minute walk), the hospital offers a range of parking options including onsite (small fee) and all‑day street parking. The Mount Druitt Dental Clinic, located within the hospital, provides high‑quality dental care for adults and children, including prosthetic services. What you’ll be doing This temporary full‑time position, supported through the WSLHD Aboriginal Training Pathways Program, is a 12‑month contract for a Dental Assistant – WSLHD Trainee. Trainees in Dental Assisting are contracted under an NSW training contract and will automatically be enrolled in a Certificate III in Dental Assisting. The trainee will undertake educational and clinical responsibilities in all aspects of dentistry, including but not limited to chairside assisting, infection‑control management, instrument preparation, dental charting, sterilisation and patient care. Demonstrated ability to manage both work and study commitments, with a willingness to undertake on‑the‑job training and classroom‑based learning to complete a Certificate III in Dental Assisting within 12 months. Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team and follow instructions to complete tasks. Willingness and ability to work across multiple dental clinic locations within Western Sydney Local Health District, including Westmead and Mount Druitt Hospitals.
