Commis Chef | Melton We are looking for a motivated and passionate Casual Commis Chef to join the PLG team at the Golden Fleece Hotel in Melton. You’ll focus on basic food preparation tasks, support experienced chefs, and maintain a clean and organised kitchen. An extensive modern menu with daily specials caters to children and adults alike. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to cooking guidelines and set standards. Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with food assembly, plating, and general kitchen duties. Ensure food safety procedures are followed. Maintain control and leadership in your assigned kitchen section during service times. Keep the workstation clean and organised. The role is fast‑paced and may require lifting boxes, kegs or stock, standing for long periods, and using stairs. Qualifications Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent). Food Handlers Certificate. Experience working in a pub/bistro or fast‑paced kitchen environment. Understanding of fundamental cooking methods and recipe execution.
