Production Supervisor/Team Leader – Afternoon Shift Armstrong Flooring is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced hands on production supervisor/team leader to supervise and co‑ordinate our afternoon shift production crew. About Us Armstrong Flooring, Australia’s only resilient floor coverings manufacturer, and a key supplier to health and other commercial markets, has an established reputation delivering quality products and customer service excellence. Armstrong Flooring’s Braeside sheet vinyl manufacturing facility was established in 1969, and is currently operating 24 hours per day, 5 days a week. Undergoing a period of capital investment and process improvement, an opportunity has arisen for an afternoon production supervisor/team leader to join the team working 3.00pm to 11.30pm. About the Role Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the day shift management team you will be responsible to supervise and co‑ordinate the afternoon shift operations and ensuring production targets are met. Key responsibilities include: Lead, coach and develop the dedicated 15 member afternoon shift production crew developing a performance‑led culture ensuring they understand their duties and responsibilities, delivery improvement strategies and department standards and targets Organise, monitor and control the flow of production and ensure and be responsible for achieving production performance standards and targets and problem solving Regularly review and update all processes including machine settings and standards, investigation of machine improvements and new machinery options, processing methods and costs, inspection and testing procedures and quality control, so continuous improvement towards world’s best practice can be made Ensure at all times via planning, communication and liaising with the Supply Chain Department provision of adequate supplies to ensure consistent non‑interrupted production flow within the Department Maintain a strong commitment to OH&S standards promoting a safe work environment Build effective relationships with stakeholders across manufacturing, quality and maintenance to ensure the alignment of objectives and timely troubleshooting About You Ideally, you will have: Proven supervisory experience in manufacturing (PVC/plastics manufacturing preferred) Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands‑on approach and the proven ability to motivate the team and work through and implement change with a diverse multi‑cultural workforce Strong administrative skills and attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem solving aptitude Commitment to workplace safety and a sound understanding of OH&S regulations essential This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Australian manufacturing operation with a great history entering a new phase of growth and prosperity.
