Position Information The Assistant Principal Learning Support is often the first point of contact for the team around a school. They support school staff, including learning and support teachers to develop and implement adjusted educational programs for students and provide guidance on the nationally consistent collection of data, curriculum differentiation, support for behaviour, and adjustments for learning. They also provide professional support for learning and support teachers through professional learning activities, network meetings, and individual advice and support. Jindabyne is located at the base of the Snowy Mountains on Monero‑Ngarigo land, approximately 2 hours south of Canberra. Jindabyne Public School currently has a student population of approximately 300 students (approximately 3% identifying as Aboriginal) and the planned build caters for expansion to approximately 500 students. The school caters for a diverse student population and places a strong focus on academic success, student aspiration, and provision of opportunity. Specific Selection Criteria Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary and/or secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (primary and/or secondary). Ability to provide direct support to schools as part of the team around a school to tailor educational approaches for students with additional learning and wellbeing requirements. Expertise in personalising learning for a wide range of students with additional support needs and the ability to effectively support schools to assess, implement, monitor and review personalised learning and support. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. The Assistant Principal Learning Support is an itinerant position that travels across the Eden‑Monaro Principal Network providing direct support to schools. The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s licence and have the ability to travel between schools within the network.
