Assistant Accountants

To support our clients' continuous growth and demand across major Energy sector projects spanning their enterprise, we are seeking to appoint two Assistant Accountant positions to form part of a large Finance function to work closely with various finance teams through the delivery of timely and accurate accounting transactions. There are two positions being offered as initial 12-month day rate contract assignments, based in modern high-rise Perth CBD offices that support remote and flexible-hybrid Working from Home setups. Key accountabilities and duties for these positions will include : Ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and set and meet deadlines. Ensuring work is compliant with all statutory requirements, including tax, SOX and audit compliance, and internal Company Code of Conduct. Ensure effective record keeping and audit trail of business records and communications. You must have commercial-corporate experience in an accounting / finance / bookkeeping capacity, whilst any working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP's will be highly beneficial, along with one or more of the following areas of expertise : Funding Analysis - oversee and execute daily treasury settlements and joint venture cash calls, govern, and monitor the Treasury Management System, responsible for group funding and liquidity, execute cash repatriation back to Treasury entities, support dividend and hedging company transactions, joint venture cash call SME for upcoming ERP transition, and support ad-hoc banking and treasury related activities. Management Accounting - preparation of accruals, cost allocations, tariff journals, general journals, cash calls, and secondee invoicing, governance of commitments, preparation of expenditure reports, primary cost and trial balance reviews, financial statement analysis, and period end close activities. Fixed Assets - creation and maintenance of fixed asset master data, processing of asset transfers, disposals, retirements, impairments and revaluations, preparation of monthly documents and commentary, periodic asset reviews and period end close activities. Financial Accounting - preparation and upload of month end journals, customer invoicing, preparation of monthly workbooks. SOX activities - SOX control compliance, and SOX control testing support. General Ledger Reconciliations - preparation of balance sheet reconciliations as well as supporting data and evidence.
