We’re building Audit Pilot, a first‑of‑its‑kind SaaS platform designed to simplify and automate for the entire health care industry, and we need you to help lead this transformation. The Opportunity $170k-210k base pay (Hybrid / Remote-friendly within Australian time zones) What You’ll Do Architect, build, and scale backend services from scratch Own DevOps, CI/CD, automation, security, and cloud infrastructure Design async and concurrent systems powering a high-growth SaaS Collaborate with product and engineering to shape the MVP and roadmap Implement best practices across testing, observability, and performance Mentor engineers as the team grows Primary Requirements At least 8 years of professional experience in backend development Demonstrated ability to design and build backend systems from the ground up using TypeScript and/or Python TypeScript experience is essential Hands‑on production experience working with async and concurrent processing systems Strong background in API design and integration, including REST and GraphQL Experience implementing Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) solutions on AWS A solid system design mindset, with emphasis on performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency Strong capability in code reviews and in communicating backend concepts clearly to the teamWorking knowledge of agile development practices; prior experience leading a high‑performing remote engineering team Familiarity with: AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) LLM integration, including function calling and prompt engineering OpenAI and Anthropic APIs Secondary Requirements A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred, but not essential A portfolio showcasing relevant work or contributions to open‑source projects is an advantage, though not required Experience managing or operating SaaS applications on AWS is beneficial but not mandatory Background working in healthcare services or other regulated industries is a plus, but not required Tech Stack Backend: TypeScript, Python, REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, Async/Concurrent Processing SystemsInfrastructure: AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)AI / LLM: Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, Function Calling, Prompt Engineering If you’re a backend-focused engineer with DevOps capability who wants to build a real product, shape the technical direction, and own massive architectural decisions – we want to meet you.
