Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Senior Pharmacy Procurement Assistant The closing date is 09 December 2025 We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join the Outpatient Pharmacy Team supporting procurement. You will support and assist in the day to day operations of outpatient pharmaceutical procurement for the trust. You will work alongside the Outsourced Outpatient Pharmacy and other Central Pharmacy Team members to provide an excellent Customer Service to end users. Main duties of the job Assist in the day-to-day operations of Outpatient Pharmaceutical Procurement for the Trust, to provide an economic and efficient purchasing service for which full training will be provided. You will work alongside Outsourced Outpatient Pharmacy and other Central Pharmacy Team members to provide an excellent Customer Service to end users. You will work closely with suppliers and the other members of the Pharmacy department to ensure that all required information on procurement function is provided in an accurate and timely manner. Advise and support the Education and Training team (including e-hospital) in the development of updated staff training for stock control. Work closely and effectively with The Outsourced Outpatient Pharmacy, Central Pharmacy Stores and e-hospital Project teams in the continual process of monitoring, reviewing and improving system and service operations. Person Specification Qualifications Evidence of good general level of education required i.e.: Literate and numerate to the degree required for job description tasks (usually reading, writing, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and simple calculations) Educated to GCSE level or equivalent NVQ Pharmaceutical Services (or equivalent) Experience Experience of prioritising, planning and organising own tasks Experience of customer service or dealing with the public Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations Knowledge Understanding of customer service Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packsges - Microsoft Office and Excel Understanding of confidentiality Knowledge of the Trust including awareness of the Trust's priorities Skills Ability to work as part of a team Excellent communication skills including telephone, email and face to face Ability to follow processes and procedures High level of ability to organise and manage own time, keeping to schedule and deadlines Good organisational and record keeping skills Ability to meet deadlines Ability to carry out instructions and recall Willing to take on/learn new skills Ability to show excellent attention to detail Ability to adapt to change Ability to work under pressure Proactive and able to identify and act upon opportunities for improvement Additional Requirements The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
