About The Role The Senior Data Analyst will support Engineers Australia’s Operations & Assessments business unit by developing analytical, data modelling, and insight delivery capabilities. This role involves gathering requirements, leveraging expertise in reporting best practices and Microsoft BI tools to create sustainable, high-performing solutions, and collaborating with stakeholders to maximize value. As part of EA’s digital transformation program, the analyst will work closely with the Data, Analytics, and Insights team to drive continuous improvement and ensure strong performance and return on investment in the new Microsoft-based data platforms. This is a 12 months fixed term opportunity. Location: Flexible with a preference for east coast. In This Role You Will Partner with Operations & Assessments teams to deliver operational reporting requirements, including self-service reporting capabilities and dashboard creation. Design and develop visually compelling, interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, following best practices for data visualization. Support the Digital Transformation program by assisting with data archiving solutions and accessibility tools. Perform quality assurance testing on Power BI solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with business requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, dashboards, and data connectivity, while providing end-user support. Respond promptly to ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests, delivering timely and accurate insights to meet business needs. Here’s What We’re Looking For Data Analysis & Interpretation – Ability to work with complex datasets from multiple sources and extract meaningful insights to support strategic decision-making. Data Modelling Expertise – Advanced knowledge of data modelling concepts (e.g., star and snowflake schemas) with experience in building and optimizing models for usability and performance. Power BI & Visualization Skills – Strong capability in designing impactful dashboards; intermediate to advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query is highly desirable. Technical Proficiency – Skilled in writing SQL queries for data extraction and analysis; familiarity with Azure Databricks is an advantage. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication – Proven experience in gathering reporting requirements and effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences; experience in operational reporting and KPI development is preferred.
