Department of Mining and Energy – Darwin NT Senior Administrative Officer 1 - Remuneration Package Range $151,221 - $168,735 Mining Projects Darwin, Batchelor One full time vacancy fixed for 6 months is available This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on the rehabilitation of the former Rum Jungle Mine Site, located in the Northern Territory. Nestled alongside the pristine Litchfield National Park, rehabilitation of the Rum Jungle Mine site will showcase leading practice techniques and an evidence-based approach. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading engagement programs, managing competing priorities and collaborating effectively in culturally diverse and sensitive contexts. Reporting to the Director, Heritage and Engagement, this role leads the Rum Jungle Engagement Team, overseeing stakeholder and public engagement, community training, business development and heritage management activities that support strong relationships with project stakeholders, particularly Traditional Aboriginal Owners. Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating engagement activities, developing high-quality reports and communication materials, and acting as a primary point of contact for stakeholder enquiries, feedback and complaints. The role also ensures that communication activities are aligned with strategic engagement plans and that stakeholders receive timely, accurate information to participate in project decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Success in this position requires sound judgement, the ability to interpret varied perspectives, and a strategic, adaptable approach to managing pressure, change and complex engagement requirements.
