Youth Events Team Volunteer

Participants who are successfully selected for the Youth Events Team will join an environment that encourages the building of social connections with other volunteers. Youth Events Team members receive opportunities to develop skills and undertake training in event management, media and marketing, public speaking and project design. Volunteers also receive recognition as a City of Ballarat Volunteer. Youth Events Team requires a significant level of commitment from all committee members. Training will begin with a one‑day Leadership Camp at the end of January. Throughout their 12‑month term, Youth Events Team meetings will be held weekly, commencing February 2026, at 4pm‑6pm on Wednesday evenings at Camp St. Youth Events Team is led by young people and supported by the Youth Services team. The program is facilitated by City of Ballarat's Youth Development Officers, who coordinate operations and provide relevant resources and support. About the role We are looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in enhancing the achievements of young people in our community, and creating opportunities for young people to thrive. The ideal volunteer will: Have an understanding of event management and/or a willingness to learn. Have a keen interest in health, wellbeing and cultural events. Be willing to participate in social and team building activities. Commitment & Training Category: Young People Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work: Fundraising & Events, Marketing, Media & Communications Time Required: Significant level of commitment over 12 months, with weekly meetings starting February 2026.
