Disability & Mental Health Support Worker Dandelion House is an accredited NDIS Disability Service Provider, operating in Newcastle, Maitland, and Dubbo regions. We provide support independent living (SIL) style accommodation to people with a disability. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide the best quality service, in a person-centred way, tailored to meet the needs of our Participants. About this Role We are looking for passionate and resilient people to join our team and help support our clients to build their social and independent living skills. This role will be situated in Dubbo, working across a 24/7 roster which could include mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively within a team. Managing emotions and challenging behaviours. Administrative duties i.e., shift notes and reports. Provide direct care and support to people with a disability with all activities of daily living which may include domestic duties, personal care, social support, medication assistance, manual handling, transport, meals and attending appointments. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all key stakeholders; clients, families, guardians, and involved services. Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain). Current NDIS worker check (or willingness to obtain). Current Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain). Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Must be able to work sleepover shifts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired Criteria Experience working in the community services sector. Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with mental health, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
