National Security Manager Metcash is Australia’s leading wholesale distribution company with $19.5 billion in sales (FY25). We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including First Nations. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard Metcash’s assets and operations. Conduct periodic security risk assessments and audits to identify improvement areas and develop mitigation plans. Provide security advice and thought leadership to senior management and staff on protecting people, assets, and reputation. Oversee deployment and maintenance of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, perimeter protection). Manage security service providers, conduct tenders, and oversee contracts and standards. Collaborate with Site Operations, Pillar Management, P&C and IT to ensure integrated security measures. Lead or guide responses to security incidents, conduct investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions. Maintain emergency response plans and protocols, conduct drills and training sessions. Contribute to projects as a physical security SME, including business case development and implementation. Qualifications & Experience 5‑8 years’ experience in physical security management within wholesale, retail or supply‑chain environment; equivalent experience in a large corporate setting acceptable. Strong understanding of physical security risk management principles and broader risk management. Expertise in physical security systems and electronic security technologies. Proven leadership skills – ability to influence and motivate teams. Proven project management skills. Strong verbal and written communication; workshop facilitation experience. Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages and customer value. Ability to travel 25‑50% of the time in the field.
