As an Electronics Engineer – Cyber Systems in the Air Force, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that the Air Force’s technology, networks and cyberspace systems are operating effectively and capable of supporting exercises and missions. You’ll be responsible for managing application and network architecture, as well as communication, mission support, data, ground‑based radar, space, satellite and information warfare systems. Engineering Responsibilities Operational Engineering - leading technicians to maintain and configure communications and cyberspace systems for daily missions Sustainment Engineering - modifying, upgrading and ensuring the continued effectiveness of Air Force networks Project Engineering - applying project management skills to acquire and introduce new Air Force aircraft and equipment that suits Australia’s needs Safety Engineering - securing and protecting Air Force cyberspace systems by investigating incidents and managing training As an Air Force Officer, you’ll also be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor, equipped with highly sought‑after management skills. Upon graduation and completion of initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $108,786 per annum. Location Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley or Williamtown. For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian citizen, and be studying or have accepted an offer of placement at an Australian university for a four‑year Bachelor of Engineering in one of the fields listed in the full position description below.
