Nanny for 3 yr old with additional needs + school drop off for 5yr old sibling We are a family of 4 - Mother, Father, 5yr old daughter starting school in 2026 and a 3yr old son with an extremely rare, neurodevelopmental disorder. condition. He was diagnosed in 2024 and has been receiving extensive Allied and Clinical therapies and support ever since. Our energetic and extroverted daughter has been attending regular Preschool for 2 yrs, however our son has been solely cared for by his Mother full time. His Mother is returning to Part Time work and our family is looking for an experienced, ongoing caregiver for our son, two days a week. As well as walking his sister to school on a Thursday morning. This will be a big adjustment for him and the whole family. Our son enjoys the company of others immensely but is non-verbal. We are using simple picture cards and key word sign (more, play, drink, eat, finish, help) would like the caregiver to implement. It will be important for the caregiver to learn and follow his gestures and cues throughout the day to help ensure his needs are met and eliminate distress. He is delayed in gross and fine motor skills. He can walk/run, help getting dressed, feed himself, independently play. He needs help getting up and down stairs, therefore lots of playground time is required to build his gross motor strength. He can drink from an open cup, use a spoon/fork, struggles with cutting, sticking, turning nobs etc. We are very eager for him to be in the community and enhance his socialization and play skills. He struggles with independent feeding, sometimes overstuffing or struggling to chew. He is having some surgery early next yr to eliminate these issues, however in the meantime the caregiver will need to both prepare appropriate foods (under instruction from Mum) and help him consume it safely. We would like the caregiver to help the family implement weekly Allied Health advised exercises, be aware and help foster his developmental goals and to become an increasingly involved member of the community and form meaningful connections with his peers. He is loving, affectionate and cheeky, however struggles with motor planning and can quickly become overwhelmed and dysregulated. We have been working on tools and techniques to help him remain calm and content and safe. His favorite things are vehicles, animals and animal sounds, playing and laughing with his sister, music and dancing.
