We are now seeking a full‑time Afternoon Shift Manager to lead our production operations from 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM , Monday to Friday, at our Pakenham facility. This is a key leadership role for a motivated, hands‑on professional with proven experience in operating and troubleshooting process machinery and leading a high‑performance production team . About the Role As Afternoon Shift Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe operations across our manufacturing and packaging lines. Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing staff, coordinating production flow, and ensuring our high‑quality standards are consistently met throughout the afternoon shift. Key Responsibilities Oversee day‑to‑day production operations during the 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM shift. Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of machine operators and process workers. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot a range of process and packaging machinery. Monitor production schedules and ensure shift targets and KPIs are achieved. Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMP, HACCP, WHS, and company quality standards. Conduct on‑the‑job training for new and existing team members. Drive continuous improvement across processes, equipment efficiency, and team performance. Complete shift reports, production logs, and incident documentation as required. Coordinate shift handovers with morning and night shift supervisors for seamless operations. Communicate with maintenance and quality teams to resolve issues quickly and proactively. Foster a safe, clean, and productive working environment. About You Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within food, pharmaceutical, or supplement manufacturing. Strong technical knowledge of process and high‑speed packaging machinery . Experience with machinery troubleshooting and minor maintenance adjustments. Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive, solution‑focused approach. High attention to detail, particularly with production documentation and compliance. Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, WHS, and production best practices. Competence in shift reporting and production software (experience with ERP systems advantageous). Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg and perform manual handling tasks. Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (mandatory for this role).
