About the Role The Consumer Communications Coordinator is responsible for all communications from a Consumer capacity. This role involves the implementation of Consumer communications for the Carlton Football Club working closely with Consumer sub-departments as well as the broader Club Marketing and Communications team. The role is also responsible for managing all external Club communications via eDM and SMS and ensuring communications are detailed, relevant and build a strong sense of connection and belonging for our members and supporters. The Consumer Communications Coordinator will also play a role in supporting the workings of AFL and AFLW match days as well as other Consumer events. This is a 12-month, full-time position which sits within the Consumer Business, reporting to the Consumer Marketing and Experience Manager. The role will work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to execute Consumer communication activity for Membership, Retail and Merchandise, the Carlton College of Sport and maximising crowd attendance and engagement, ensuring everything aligns with the Carlton brand and has a customer-first approach. Key Responsibilities Manage the Club communications calendar for eDMs and SMS’. Execute all eDM and SMS deliverables for the Club including membership, retail, club news, partnerships, ticketing and unique offers, ensuring a customer-first approach which helps build connection and belonging. Liaise with the Club’s Communications and Marketing department to ensure all outbound communications are in line with Club messaging and brand. Prepare written communication materials for different channels in line with the Club grammar guide. Manage and be across Club inboxes to understand any common themes, trends and sentiment as well as replying to emails in a timely manner. Communicate all relevant information to members about their membership entitlements and benefits. Oversee and coordinate the Consumer calendar of communication activities that assist to deliver outcomes for Membership, Retail and Merchandise, Carlton College of Sport, Crowd Attendance and Member and Customer Engagement. Support the coordination and execution of campaigns that support Consumer growth. Assist with the execution of collateral briefs with the Design team. Manage and maintain the Carlton membership website, ensuring all information is accurate, informative and relevant for members and supporters. Involvement in and supporting the delivery of AFL and AFLW match days including information sharing for members and supporters as well as ensuring the match day / event experience is positive. This role will provide support across all elements of the Consumer Business team as needed on match day. Own and manage accessibility communication for match days and Consumer events ensuring information is clear, accurate and tailored to the needs of members and supporters with accessibility needs. Assist with the running of match days and Consumer events (e.g. open training sessions for the AFL/AFLW programs). Lead and coordinate internal communications and events amongst the Consumer team to ensure communication is strong and activities/events are scheduled to maximise engagement and sense of fun. Contribute to the execution of the Member Belonging plan. Respond and coordinate all Club requests including Bequests and Community requests. Assist with general administration within the broader Consumer team. Experience, Skills and Attributes Excellent written skills, with a clear eye for detail to ensure tone of voice and grammatical standards are of the highest level. Enjoy proofreading to ensure accuracy of information. Familiarity with maintenance of web pages and ability to update web content. A natural collaborator who thrives in a team environment. Strong planning and organisational skills, including time management and ability to meet deadlines. Strong values, with high integrity. Naturally very customer focused and enjoys helping others. Likes to take initiative and is a self-starter. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and strong rapport building. Brings a positive mindset and approach, with a willingness to learn and take on responsibilities. Is team oriented and enjoys working with others.
