Cost Accountant

The Company Sharp & Carter has partnered with a market leading manufacturer who are a part of a wider group of global businesses. This privately owned business has experienced a period of growth via a recent series of acquisitions and they hope to continue this trajectory under experienced and responsible financial management. The Role Reporting directly into an experienced finance manager, the group accountant will predominantly focus on providing accurate and detailed management reporting to the business. You will partner closely with operations divisions whilst also assisting with cost accounting and month and year‑end reporting. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assisting in the preparation of monthly reporting packs for internal and external stakeholders; Business partnering with operational management; Managing cost accounting process for the business; Preparation of relevant journals, prepayments and accruals; Completion of monthly general ledger reconciliations; Completion of month‑end and year‑end accounts; Ensure accurate allocation of costs; Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date general ledger; and Ad hoc tasks and process improvements as required. The Candidate The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified with an accounting or business background. You will have 3‑4 years’ experience in a similar role and have completed or aspire to complete your CA/CPA. You will have exceptional communication skills, a strong eye for detail and a continuous improvement mindset. Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
