Clinical Nurse - Older Persons Mental Health, Queensland Health The Older Persons Mental Health Services located at Kirwan are seeking experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join the their multidisciplinary team who make a difference in the lives of our elderly patients. This is a temporary full-time role, up to 12 months. This role provides comprehensive specialized Psychogeriatric mental health assessments, short term coordinated engagement with older persons who meet the established criteria for Older Persons Mental Health Services. About the opportunity The key purpose of this position is to: Provide psycho-geriatric consultancy, education and community outreach services to Queensland Health and other relevant aged care or mental health care providers within Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) and maintain consultation and liaison services within the northern area as negotiated. Work collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and well-being of consumers and carers. Townsville Older Persons Mental Health Service is an integrated consultation and liaison community-based service providing assessment and treatment for older adults in the community. (NG6-1) 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading Professional Development leave and allowance Locality and uniform allowance 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available Requirements: Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Highly Desirable: Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing. Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016. Driver Licence: This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle. Verification of license must be provided prior to commencement of duty. Travel: This position may be required to travel to (via small planes or ferry), and work at, other facilities located within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service, e.g., participate in clinical activities or meetings for planning, quality, performance and education.
