Principal Policy Analyst – Learning Pathways – Curriculum Teaching and Attainment Department for Education, Children and Young People (Tasmania) What We're Offering Child-safe organisation Pathways to grow your career About The Role As Principal Policy Analyst, you'll lead the design and implementation of statewide initiatives that open learning pathways for students. Your Work Will Directly Influence Vocational learning and hands‑on industry experiences for students in secondary school. School‑to‑work transitions and employer partnerships. Strategic programmes supporting young people's career, work, and life planning. System-wide approaches to improve retention and attainment across Tasmania. You’ll have room to think, to question, to design, and to build. You’ll also have responsibility: shaping ministerial advice, guiding cross‑sector implementation, and helping senior leaders make informed, future‑focused decisions. What You’ll Bring Think system-wide while staying grounded in real‑world delivery. Write clearly, persuasively, and in plain English. Turn policy intent into operational reality. Work effectively with diverse partners – school leaders, teachers, industry, government. Believe every young person deserves real, tangible post‑school options. This role is demanding. You’ll juggle competing priorities, deliver under tight timeframes, and navigate complex stakeholder environments. It requires someone who can shift from strategic thinking to tactical problem‑solving, who cares about student outcomes, and who finds energy in making policy work on the ground.
