Specialist Medical Secretary

We are seeking an exceptional medical administrator to join our friendly Team within a busy ENT surgical practice based in Cairns City. The successful applicant must be well presented, personable, self-motivated, and have a caring, competent and professional manner. Attention to detail with a strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment is a must. You will be working closely with our dedicated and supportive team, to provide a high level of administrative support to our ENT surgeon. This is a casual position approximately 25 hours per week (increasing to cover staff leave) requiring the successful candidate to be available between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday to Friday. Responsibilities Reception and general administrative duties Managing a high volume of telephone enquiries and email correspondence; responding to patient queries Maintain accurate patient records Management of practitioner clinics, appointment bookings and theatre schedules. Preparation and delivery of surgical quotes Liaising closely with patients, other health professionals and hospital staff. Processingpatient, Medicareand Private Health Fund accounts,invoicing, receipting, and reconciliations. Other administration/reception and practice support tasks as required. Qualifications & Requirements A professional and courteous manner The ability to work efficiently and autonomously in a high volume practice Well organised with the ability to prioritise; manage personal independent workload and priorities of practice requirements A positive and enthusiastic attitude coupled with a caring and compassionate nature Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to uphold patient and business privacy and confidentiality Exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong computer skills with experience in Practice Management software. Proof of recent National Police Check Proof of Blue Card QLD Working with Children Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status Availability to work Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM You must have the right to live and work in this location to apply for this job.
