Senior Project Engineer / Estimator Location: Brisbane - Surat Basin | FIFO | Major Energy & Infrastructure Projects Salary: $170,000 – $180,000 + Super + Site Up Lift (Negotiable on experience) We’re partnering with a leading contractor delivering complex energy and infrastructure projects across Queensland and regional Australia. With major tenders and brownfield scopes ramping up, the business is seeking a Senior Project Engineer / Estimator to support upcoming SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) and E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) projects. This is a hands‑on estimating and project engineering role, ideal for someone with strong field understanding and the ability to translate drawings, scopes, and tender documentation into detailed cost estimates and construction methodologies. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for SMP and E&I packages Analyse drawings, isometrics, and specifications to determine scope, quantities, and labour requirements Liaise with engineering, procurement, and delivery teams to validate estimates and identify risks or opportunities Contribute to bid documentation and tender clarifications Support project planning, resourcing, and change‑order costings during execution Maintain estimating systems and cost databases to ensure accuracy and traceability Provide technical input into construction methodology, work packaging, and sequencing Skills & Experience Degree or trade background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 8+ years’ experience in estimating or project engineering within SMP and/or E&I projects Proven ability to interpret complex drawings and translate into accurate take‑offs and estimates Strong working knowledge of SAP, InEight, or similar cost management tools Previous exposure to mining, oil & gas, or energy infrastructure projects Excellent communication, stakeholder, and reporting skills Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Why Apply?
