About the Role We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our manufacturing team plant specializing in conveyor systems at our Campbellfield manufacturing plant. This hands‑on role is essential to the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical components and systems used in industrial conveyor solutions. Core Responsibilities: Assemble mechanical components and conveyor systems according to engineering drawings and specifications. Install conveyor systems on‑site, ensuring alignment, functionality, and safety compliance. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on conveyor systems and associated machinery. Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime. Operate workshop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and welding tools. Modify or fabricate components as needed to meet design or operational requirements. Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations. Complete documentation and reports related to maintenance, repairs, and installations. Work closely with engineers, electricians, and other fitters to deliver integrated solutions. Participate in toolbox talks and contribute to a safe and productive work environment. Qualifications & Skills: Mechanical fitter trade qualifications or equivalent. Proven experience in mechanical fitting, preferably within conveyor systems or heavy industrial equipment or automation. Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Proficient in the use of hand and power tools. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Physically fit, enthusiastic, and a great attitude. Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. Work autonomously with ease and thrives in pressure situations. Reliable, honest, and trustworthy by nature. What We Offer: Competitive $50.00 hourly rate plus super and overtime opportunities.
