Christian Heritage College (CHC) invites applications for the position of Dean of the School of Education and Humanities an integral academic role within our vibrant Christian higher education community. This senior leadership position is responsible for the overall wellbeing management strategic direction and advancement of CHCs largest school. This position encompasses both academic and managerial responsibilities requiring the fulfilment of key administrative and leadership duties alongside academic contributions. Working with direction from the Executive Dean and closely with the Chief Academic Officer and members of the Executive to ensure the continued growth and success of the college About CHC CHC is a dynamic faith-based fully accredited higher education college committed to delivering high-quality values-driven higher education. We offer accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs that integrate academic excellence with a Christian worldview preparing graduates for meaningful impact in their professions and communities. The Role The Dean position holds a strategic leadership role in ensuring the School of Education & Humanities meaningfully contribute to the broader vision and mission of Christian Heritage College and in the competitive landscape of higher education primarily for the courses offered within the schools. The Dean position includes oversight of academic programs new course development staffing administration industry engagement relevant accreditations research and alignment with CHCs Christian worldview. Working closely with the key leadership to continually improve courses profitability relevancy and market engagement with potential Education this involves working with regulatory bodies including Queensland College of Teachers to manage accreditation and quality audit processes compliance and continual improvement as well as networking within governing school bodies such as CSA and ACS. Key Responsibilities Provide visionary leadership of the School of Education & Humanities aligned with CHCs mission and Christian ethos. Oversee academic administrative and operational functions ensuring excellence in course delivery faculty performance and student outcomes. Ensure all programs reflect academic rigor and a Christian worldview maintaining relevance across educational and societal contexts. Drive innovation through new program development flexible delivery models and strategic partnershipsespecially within the national embedded Initial Teacher Education framework. Lead accreditation and quality assurance processes ensuring compliance with national standards and stakeholder expectations. Cultivate a research-rich environment by modelling scholarly excellence and supporting faculty research aligned with CHCs priorities. Champion staff development through mentoring performance leadership and alignment with CHCs values. Contribute to teaching and research including supervision of postgraduate scholarship. Collaborate with leadership to grow enrolments through responsive future-focused program offerings. Represent the School across CHC contributing to governance cross-college initiatives and community engagement. Actively participate in the broader Christian education network through events advocacy and strategic dialogue. Build and sustain influential relationships with accrediting bodies academic institutions Christian organisations and community partners. About You To be considered for this role you must meet the following : Selection Criteria Hold a relevant level 10 (PhD) qualification A demonstrated commitment to Christ-centered higher-education and an ability to support the Christian mission and purpose of CHC Be of mature Christian character committed to and active in a local church A strong network of mission aligned professionals Demonstrated relevant experience in regulatory and professional accreditation with a higher education Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to work independently and in a team Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to consult collaboratively with other key leaders and departments on common goals and projects Ability to analyse data to make meaningful recommendations Be self-motivated and results driven Ability to breakdown high-level strategy into smaller achievable activity Report on relationships through data and connection to strategic goals. Willingness and ability to accept responsibility.
