Position Department of Education WA – Halls Head WA – 12 month fixed term part time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency. About the School Halls Head College Education Support Centre (HHC ESC) is a welcoming and inclusive environment that aims to build meaningful connections. HHC ESC enrols secondary students, from year 7 to year 10, needing intensive support to achieve their educational and personal development goals. The school enrolls 68 students in 2025 and is committed to developing lifelong learners who achieve their personal best and build their emotional, social and physical wellbeing. Role Halls Head College Education Support Centre (HHC ESC) is seeking to appoint a hardworking and creative Marketing and Communications Officer to join our friendly and supportive team. The Marketing and Communications Officer will lead and manage the strategic communication of the school across multiple platforms, supporting the school’s goals and objectives as highlighted within the school plan. The successful applicant should ideally have experience in public relations, marketing and communications and be able to develop and implement school‑wide marketing and communications plans, manage communications across social media, newsletters, website, print publications, and create engaging marketing collateral using design tools such as Canva. The successful applicant will also be passionate and energetic in connecting the school to the community by organising and coordinating key school and community events, liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships, and identifying local opportunities that benefit students and the school. We are looking to appoint someone who is highly motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team, possesses strong organisational and project‑management skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and is passionate about community connection and inclusive education. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Experience in public relations, marketing and communications. Ability to develop and implement marketing and communication plans across multiple channels. Strong organisational and project‑management skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Passion for community connection and inclusive education. Demonstrated sound communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers. Demonstrated sound research, conceptual, analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to think clearly and solve problems autonomously.
