Head of Projects

Why we need you We are seeking a high-performing Head of Projects to lead our Projects Team across Australia, the UK, and other international regions as we continue our global growth. This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role responsible for delivering complex project outcomes safely, on time and on budget, while providing clear, accurate and timely visibility of performance to the Managing Director and the wider business. You will be the senior point of contact for clients and stakeholders, manage delivery excellence across multiple jurisdictions, and ensure our systems, processes and people are aligned to world‑class project management standards. What we would like You are a seasoned delivery leader preferably with deep experience in heavy lifting, rigging, cranes, and have worked in large‑scale construction environments. You combine strategic capability with the horsepower and resilience to execute in fast‑moving operational contexts. With a proven track record leading multidisciplinary project teams, you will bring strong commercial acumen, technical knowledge, and the ability to drive consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement across diverse and complex project portfolios. Just as importantly, you will be a relationship builder – someone who can confidently represent Marr as the senior face of Project Delivery to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. Your keys to success 10+ years’ senior project management experience in heavy lifting/rigging, crane, or construction industries. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field. Masterful communication, leadership, and organisational skills with proven success managing high‑performing project teams. Strong capability across HSE, quality, schedule, budget, resource planning, and commercial management. Ability to develop, streamline and implement efficient systems, processes, and reporting frameworks. Deep understanding of crane, lifting and rigging standards, regulations and legal requirements. Highly competent with MS Office, project management systems, and ERP platform. Experience managing projects across multiple sites or regions, ideally including international interface. A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to influence, advise and collaborate at all levels. Desire to travel globally to support the growth and development of the team.
