Kennedys is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join our Healthcare team in Sydney, working directly with Partner who acts in some of the most high-profile healthcare and insurance litigation matters in NSW. THE OPPORTUNITY You’ll handle complex medical negligence and product liability matters for major clients such as large hospital groups, IVF providers, pharmaceutical companies, and leading insurers. This role offers exceptional exposure to significant, high‑stakes matters with direct involvement in some of the most high‑profile healthcare cases in NSW. With genuine autonomy in managing your files, direct client contact with major insurers and healthcare providers, and Kennedys’ continued growth in Australia, there are strong promotion pathways for high performers. WHAT YOU’LL DO Manage complex medical negligence and product liability matters from inception through to trial Provide strategic advice to clients on liability, risk management, and litigation strategy Draft legal documents, pleadings, and court submissions for high‑value claims Conduct legal research and analysis on complex healthcare and insurance issues Liaise directly with insurers, healthcare providers, medical experts, and senior counsel Support coverage advice and regulatory complaint matters Work autonomously while collaborating with a leading litigation partner Contribute to business development and client relationship management Supervise and mentor junior lawyers in the team Contribute to Kennedys’ internal and external publications WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Law degree with 4+ years post‑qualification experience Experience in medical negligence and / or product liability litigation Defendant firm experience strongly preferred (plaintiff experience will be considered) Proven ability to manage complex, high‑value litigation matters independently Strong legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills Excellent client relationship and communication skills Self‑starter who works independently with minimal supervision Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail High level of professionalism and commercial awareness Ability to meet billing targets and contribute to business development Ready to advance your healthcare litigation career at a leading international firm?
