About the Role Join ENGIE B2C as our next Compliance Program Lead and play a key role in shaping the future of compliance. You’ll report to Michelle Lewis, Manager – Retail Compliance, and work closely with Jamie Lowe, Head of Regulation & Compliance. As a key liaison between the compliance function and business units, you’ll foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous learning, while driving the uplift of compliance capability across the team and broader business. Key Responsibilities Compliance Strategy & Framework: Champion the creation and evolution of compliance programs that set industry benchmarks. You’ll have the opportunity to introduce best practices, leverage cutting‑edge tools, and collaborate across teams to ensure our compliance framework is both robust and agile, positioning ENGIE B2C as a leader in ethical business. Regulatory Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impact, and implement required changes. Prepare and submit external compliance reports and deliver actionable insights for senior leadership. Risk Management & Audits: Drive internal and external audits, investigations, and risk assessments. Ensure timely closure of audit findings and champion proactive compliance activities. Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide expert guidance on complex regulatory matters, build strong relationships across the business, and act as a key liaison for high‑risk compliance projects. Capability Building: Share knowledge, deliver informal training, and foster a culture of continuous learning to uplift compliance capability across the team and broader business. You will bring: Tertiary qualification in Law, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline. Demonstrated ability to lead the development, execution, and monitoring of compliance frameworks and initiatives within a regulated industry (energy or utilities preferred). In‑depth understanding of Australian energy regulations, compliance standards, and industry codes (e.g., Australian Energy Regulator, National Energy Retail Law, AS/ISO 31000 & AS/ISO 1960). Experience monitoring regulatory developments, assessing business impact, and leading the implementation of regulatory changes. Hands‑on experience leading internal and external audits, risk assessments, and investigations, including the development and closure of mitigation strategies. Ability to prepare and deliver detailed compliance reports, insights, and recommendations for senior leadership, using data to drive decision‑making. Proven success in translating complex regulatory requirements into practical controls and integrating compliance into operational processes. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise at all levels. Capacity to foster a culture of continuous learning and capability building within the team.
