Assistant Manager Beverage Focused

The Plough Hotel is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager / Bar Manager to join our team in Footscray, Victoria. This full time position works closely with and reports directly to the Venue Manager. The role has a strong focus on beverage operations including craft beer, wine and cocktails while supporting the smooth day to day running of the venue. What You’ll Be Doing Leading the bar and beverage operations with a strong focus on product quality and service standards Overseeing stock control, ordering and supplier relationships Designing and maintaining beverage lists including craft beer, wine and cocktail programs Supporting front of house operations and assisting with team leadership, training and rostering Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and licensing requirements Working closely with the kitchen team to align food and beverage offerings Assisting with analysing key performance metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement Helping maintain a positive, motivated and professional team culture What We’re Looking For 3 plus years experience in a bar management or assistant management role Strong beverage knowledge across craft beer, wine and cocktails Proven skills in stock control, ordering and menu development Confident leadership and the ability to support and mentor a team Strong communication and customer service skills Understanding of food operations and back of house processes Familiarity with POS and venue management systems Knowledge of licensing, health and safety regulations About Us The Plough Hotel is a much loved Footscray venue known for quality food, drinks and a welcoming community atmosphere.
