Security Officer – Canterbury Hospital NSW Health – Canterbury Hospital Employment Type : Temporary Full Time (38 hours per week) up to December 2026 with possibility of ongoing employment Position Classification : Security Officer Remuneration : $1,164.19 per week + annual leave loading + Superannuation Location : Canterbury Hospital, Sydney, New South Wales Requisition ID : REQ About the Role Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care. The Security Department provides 24‑hour security service. The primary objectives of the Security Staff are to ensure the safety of staff, patients and visitors and protect hospital assets. Security Staff have a duty of care of all patients, staff and visitors and must participate in crime prevention, deterrence initiatives and risk minimisation strategies. For more information, please view the Position Description. Responsibilities Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Perform surveillance of hospital premises, including monitoring alarms, access control, and CCTV. Respond quickly and appropriately to incidents and emergencies. Assist in the implementation of crime prevention and deterrence strategies. Support other hospital services as required. Ideal Candidate Licensed according to the Security Industry Act 1997 – Class 1 A, with current Senior First Aid Certificate. Ability to perform shift work on a 24×7 rotating roster. Previous experience and knowledge of electronic systems such as alarm monitoring, access control and CCTV surveillance.
