About the Role We are seeking a motivated Graduate Lawyer to join our busy and dynamic Crime Team based in Mackay. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about criminal law who wants to gain real, hands‑on experience working alongside experienced lawyers and appearing in court. You’ll assist with a wide range of matters, including criminal and traffic offences, domestic violence matters, and summary hearings. You’ll also be mentored by senior practitioners who will help you develop strong advocacy, client management, and legal drafting skills. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of briefs, submissions, and court documents. Attend client conferences and court appearances with senior lawyers. Manage file preparation, disclosure, and correspondence. Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy. Communicate effectively with clients, counsel, and other stakeholders. About You Recently completed (or about to complete) a Bachelor of Laws. Eligible to start or currently completing your PLT. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. A professional attitude with a genuine interest in criminal law. Ability to work well under pressure and handle confidential matters with sensitivity. Why Join Us?
