Technical Assistant – Urban Works

An opportunity exists within our Infrastructure Team as a Urban Works Technical Assistant. This position will provide quality technical and administrative support with a strong focus on customer service, communication and continuous improvement. It will assist the Department Infrastructure Services Managers for the delivery of the operational and capital works program, investigation and development of engineering projects for urban and rural improvements that may include minor survey and design of roads, works within Parks and Reserves, Playgrounds, Sport facilities, Footpaths, Trees or Drainage facilities. Other duties include administration, asset inspections, reporting and assisting in the development of business cases, forward planning documents and grant submissions. This position is permanent full-time. To be successful you will require relevant industry experience in the construction or maintenance of Urban Infrastructure, have knowledge of the survey and design of Urban Infrastructure, and excellent customer service and communication skills. Benefits for you: The salary range is $2,871 to $3,086 per fortnight Starting salary to be determined upon the qualifications and experience of successful applicant. The Grade applicable to the position is Grade 9 within Council's Salary Structure Working 76 hours per fortnight with a rostered day off (9 Day fortnight) 3 weeks sick leave Professional Development opportunities are available Employer Superannuation of 12% Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award Position Description: Download and read the Position Description.
