The Role The Maintenance Attendant supports the Chief Engineer in the daily upkeep of the hotel’s guest rooms, public areas, grounds, building facilities, and back‑of‑house spaces. This hands‑on role ensures the property remains safe, functional, clean, and well‑presented at all times while contributing to a high‑quality guest experience. Responsibilities Carry out daily maintenance tasks across guest rooms, apartments, public areas, and hotel facilities. Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance as scheduled. Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption and timely resolution. Assist with general repairs including basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, tiling, and fixture replacement. Support the upkeep of the pool, sauna, plant equipment, and outdoor areas. Maintain accurate completion of maintenance logs, checklists, and task records. Ensure equipment and tools are stored safely and work areas are appropriately signed and secured. Report hazards, faults, and risks immediately. Follow hotel security protocols including key control, guest information confidentiality, and stock handling. Uphold safety, environmental, and waste‑management procedures across the property. Provide friendly and efficient service when interacting with guests and team members. Selection Criteria Minimum 1 year’s experience in general maintenance or handyperson work (hotel experience highly regarded). Demonstrated ability to perform basic repairs across multiple trades. Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with other departments. Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks. Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, with Saturday availability essential. Valid National Police Check (or ability to obtain prior to employment). First Aid Certificate. Trade qualifications in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical services. Full Australian working rights and availability for a 7‑day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays. About You Highly organised and detail orientated.
