This role is being advertised in Brisbane, Bundaberg and Hobart and can be worked for any of those locations. About the Role As Payroll Manager you’ll lead a talented team and play a pivotal role in delivering accurate compliant and efficient payroll services for our growing organisation. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of payroll as we transition from an outsourced model to an in-house function building strong processes, optimising systems and creating a best-in-class employee experience. Key Responsibilities Lead and coach a high-performing payroll team fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. Manage end-to-end payroll operations for a medium-to-large workforce ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality. Oversee fortnightly cycles superannuation PAYG deductions and leave entitlements. Drive the transition to in-house payroll including system optimisation and process redesign. Act as a subject matter expert on payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements. Lead payroll audits, internal controls and risk mitigation strategies. Partner with Finance and People teams to support budgeting, forecasting and workforce planning. Champion innovation by improving payroll systems (Chris21 / iChris) and integrating new technology. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver exceptional service to leaders and employees. What You’ll Bring 10 years experience managing payroll in a medium-to-large organisation. Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements. Proven leadership experience with a track record of team development and service excellence. Payroll systems expertise ideally Chris21 / iChris plus strong Microsoft Office skills. A relevant qualification in HR, Finance or a related field (postgraduate study is a plus).
