Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation Education for Pharmacy We invite applications for the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation Education for Pharmacy at UNSW , located in Kensington, Sydney. This part‑time position (14 hours a week) offers a salary range of $127k–$178k base, pro‑rata inclusive of 17% super and leave loading. The role is a continuing appointment and requires full rights to work in Australia; visa sponsorship is not available. Role Summary The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on our four groundbreaking health professional education programs. This newly created position will significantly contribute to the delivery of high‑quality, integrated clinical skills teaching on pharmacy courses, including the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Medicine / Master of Pharmacy program and potential future initiatives focusing on the extended scope of practice of pharmacists, including prescribing. This role is within the School of Health Sciences but is part of a multidisciplinary Clinical Skills and Simulation team within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. It is committed to preparing students for safe, competent, and person‑centred clinical practice through expert knowledge and the utilisation of high‑fidelity simulation equipment. The incumbent will model best practice clinical technique, foster student engagement, and ensure educational activities are aligned with program requirements and clinical safety standards. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver clinical skills teaching, including physical assessment, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, management planning, prescribing, and patient communication. Develop and maintain curriculum and teaching resources for pharmacy students. Engage with academic and professional staff to ensure teaching aligns with program goals and clinical safety standards. Model best practice clinical technique and support student competence in modern scope of practice. Participate in educational research initiatives and contribute to scholarship in simulation education. Qualifications & Experience Level B Qualification in a relevant health discipline and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Evidence of professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge, and professional accreditation. Demonstrated excellence in patient communication and bedside clinical skills, with recent clinical experience in gathering and utilising patient information for differential diagnosis. Demonstrated experience in teaching clinical skills including physical assessment, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, management planning, prescribing and communication. Demonstrated experience in teaching therapeutics. Ability to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to design and deliver clinical education in a safe, inclusive environment. Level C (additional) Significant experience in teaching and learning design for clinical skills using a range of pedagogical approaches, and in development and delivery of courses and programs at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Evidence of professional development in teaching and a strong track record of teaching excellence, including fostering this in others and advancing an inclusive culture of learning.
